| DISCLAIMER: THIS A REALLY REALLY LONG ENTRY
okay so. i am going to tell you a story. this story is about two girls. let's call these girls zolinda and shwaneka. here are some facts about zolinda: she's sixteen, she's been riding horses for about four years, she has a horse named precious, she's known shwaneka for about two years, she has a rich aunt who loves her to death and would do- er, buy, anything for her, and she's not shwaneka's favorite person in the world.
here are some facts about shwaneka: she's thirteen, she's been riding horses for about eight years, she has a horse named i'm-gonna-kick-precious-ass, she's known zolinda for about two years, she has a evil rich psychotic aunt who she hasn't talked to in years, and she's not zolinda's favorite person in the world.
zolinda and shwaneka have ridden horses at the same barn for quite awhile. at first, they were very good friends. but then, shwaneka realized that zolinda was copying her every move and didn't really like it that much. see, first of all, zolinda actually got shwaneka's old horse. then, shwaneka started taking riding lessons with a different trainer, and zolinda did too. shwaneka moved barns, zolinda moved barns. shwaneka started eventing instead of dressage, so did zolinda. shwaneka moved barns again, and so did zolinda. and that made shwaneka mad.
shwaneka sold her old horse. so she started to ride this one horse. let's call him precious. precious was a very, very, talented horse. shwaneka liked precious, but he was only for sale for $30,000, which her family could not afford (and her evil rich psychotic aunt hates her so she wouldn't even consider asking her because shwaneka hasn't talked to the lady in years). so she kept looking for another horse. zolinda, like always, decided to copy shwaneka and started to ride precious too. the girls' trainer, named wazza, liked zolinda better than shwaneka (which was mean and favoristic) so she decided to let zolinda's mom buy precious for only $10,000. shwaneka was jealous, because zolinda kept rubbing it in her face, but she didn't say anything mean to her and just kept doing what she could to become a better rider with her new horse, i'm-gonna-kick-precious-ass (and although her horse wasn't quite at the level that precious was at, but shwaneka loved her horse very very much so it was okay).
wazza (the trainer) decided to take zolinda on as a working student, which is basically like her assistant. shwaneka was sad, and maybe a little jealous, but she just kept doing what she could to become a better rider with her new horse. zolinda, however, kept rubbing the fact that she had a “better horse” and a “job with wazza” in shwaneka’s face. that made shwaneka very sad, kind of jealous, and kind of mad.
wazza got an off-the-track racehorse named parlay. parlay was a cute pony and wazza promised that shwaneka would get ride him. but instead since zolinda is wazza’s working student, she got to ride and train parlay. then, when parlay got sold (as all horses eventually do), zolinda’s rich aunt bought him and asked zolinda to train him. but now zolinda’s aunt is giving her parlay, which means zolinda will have two horses. shwaneka is kind of jealous, because it would be cool to have two horses.
well, it turns out now that zolinda’s rich aunt is buying her an $800,000 horse farm within riding distance from the barn they are at now, so she can come over whenever she wants. there is two barns and pastures and arenas and house and pool and this makes shwaneka very jealous, but not in a green way just in a sad way. also zolinda is getting a jaguar for her sixteenth birthday.
to top it all off, zolinda had her sixteenth birthday party the other day. shwaneka wanted to be nice so she got zolinda a very pretty sign for the side of zolinda’s truck, and it says her horse’s name and her name on it in her cross-country colors. the sign was very expensive, too. zolinda didn’t open her presents at the party, so shwaneka kind of expected a thanks for the present the next time she saw zolinda, even though they weren’t best friends or anything- it’s just polite. but the next time zolinda and shwaneka saw each other, zolinda didn’t say anything at all. so shwaneka said, “so have you opened your presents?” and zolinda said, “yea.” then there was a pause of about a minute, when zolinda said, “what did you get me again?” shwaneka thought this kind of rude, but just said, “you know, that sign.” and zolinda said, “oh yea. it's on my refrigerator.” but shwaneka knew that this was a lie, because she had just been to zolinda’s house for the party, and she had an aluminum refrigerator which you cannot attach magnets to. This made shwaneka disappointed, but she just said, “you know it’s for your truck, so everyone knows who you are, right?” and zolinda just said, “yea.” but zolinda never said thank you for the wonderful gift. and this made shwaneka very, very sad and made her want to burst into tears and start screaming and yelling at zolinda.
but there is nothing, nothing at all that shwaneka can do. she is in one way happy that zolinda is getting a wonderful farm, but jealous too, and sad that she lost her friend.
and that, my friends, is the end of the story of shwaneka and zolinda.
